MikeyPod 216 | Musician and Broadway Performer Sawyer Nunes

Sawyer Nunes is a 14 year old musical powerhouse. Not only does he hold two Broadway credits for Matilda and Finding Neverland, but just last week he released his first EP, “Songs I Wrote In My Room.” Sawyer wrote and arranged all the music, played all the instruments, engineered the recording, and mixed and mastered the whole project as well. In his bedroom. No big deal, right?
Sawyer and I have worked together for a few years with Cabaret for a Cause and I have always been fascinated and inspired by his talent and remarkable maturity as an artist and as a human. I’m super excited to share this interview with you, I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s a really exceptional person.
Speaking of Cabaret for a Cause, we have an event coming up on November 27th at The Cutting Room benefitting Project Renewal and their En Casa program for families. Click here for tickets and more info!
Thanks, as always, for listening to the podcast and if you like what you hear, tell a friend!

MikeyPod 215 | Comedian and Performance Artist Adrienne Truscott

Thanks to my diligent sister, I found my way to Joe’s Pub a couple of months ago to see Adrienne Truscott‘s Asking For It: A One Lady Rape About Comedy. It was a fantastic thought provoking show that also inspired me pretty deeply in terms of how I approached some of the material in my recent show. Adrienne is an award winning choreographer, dancer, and stand-up comedian who has performed all over the world. I was really thrilled to have the chance to speak with her.
All of that said, I recorded this interview right before I went into major “buried in prep” mode for The Animal Show, so I’m afraid some of the performances we mention in the conversation are outdated. Still, get yourself on top of Adrienne’s work and make a point to see her perform.
