MikeyPod 304 | Creator and Animal Advocate Soul Eubanks

I knew I would relate to this week’s guest Soul Eubanks when I came across his social media accounts and invited him to be on the show. After all, he’s an artist who uses many different mediums to communicate his passion for veganism. I love the way he talks about how he creates work for the love of creating it, as that’s an an energy I would love to more fully embody with my own work. We went into the journey that led him to animal advocacy and so much more!

At the top of the show, I talk a little bit about this movement that I am just starting to understand, Podcast Index. It’s making me feel nostalgic for the energy that surrounded podcasting back in 2005 when I was starting out. MikeyPod 303 | Broadway for Biden Founder Halle Morse

Among Halle Morse’s vast list of credits is her role as founder and CEO of Broadway for Biden, an inclusive community of industry professionals and theater enthusiasts united to elect Joe Biden as the next President of the United States. She filled me in on the great work that Broadway for Biden is accomplishing, and the dual roles she plays in her life as business person and artist. I especially loved our discussion about how all artists have the capacity to embody both of these roles as well. You’re going to love this conversation!

At the top of the show I give the scoop about some rescue work I did over the weekend with the Alliance to Ban Chickens as Kaporos. I didn’t know it yet when I recorded the intro, but 510 chickens were saved from this ritual animal sacrifice that took place last week. More funds are needed for their care and placement. MikeyPod 302 | Animal Advocate and Social Media Pro John Oberg

Given the current state of the world, and social media’s role in dividing people further apart than ever, I sure welcomed this invigorating conversation with animal advocate and social media influencer John Oberg. John has advocated for animals on college campuses, with international animal protection organizations, and now he has launched his own independent, patron-funded project for animals through Patreon. We talked about the evolution of his advocacy, using social media to unite people, and how we have both been energized by our moms.

John Oberg is a social media influencer and animal advocate dedicated to making the world a kinder place for animals by utilizing the power of social media. In late 2018, he launched his own independent, patron-funded program for animals through Patreon to maximize his impact, redefining animal advocacy in the social networking space. Previously, he served as Director of New Media for The Humane League and as Director of Communications for Vegan Outreach. Since launching his project, he has accumulated hundreds of millions of impressions of his content across social media.
