On this episode I talk with Camille DeAngelis, author of several novels, a travel guide to Ireland and the book we discuss today, Life Without Envy: Ego Management for Creative People. 

I was tempted to reschedule my interview with Camille because I wasn’t able to finish the book in time, but we both decided it would be interesting to do the interview in two parts. I’ve been really struggling creatively with a bunch of the things that Camille addresses in the book, so in this first part we discussed some of the concepts in the book, and Camille even gave me an assignment to do. In the second interview, we’ll talk about what it’s like to put the concepts in the book into practice. I’m really excited about approaching it in this way!

Sunny Singh is another one of the fantastic creators I met a few months ago at Patrecon. I was thrilled to be meeting a fellow vegan creator, and was especially excited to learn about his work documenting hardcore shows on hate5six.

Sunny is a self-taught videographer and editor who filmed and archived thousands of performances from bands all over the world. His content has been viewed over 28 million times and people worldwide have spent 273 YEARS watching these videos. Sunny is also the creator of SAGE, an artificially intelligent band recommendation system to help connect people to music in an organic way. It’s pretty freaking remarkable.

Sunny and I talked quite a bit about what motivated him to start making the work that he does, the exceptional community within the hard core scene, and the passion that has led him to creating such an immense body of work.
